In our society you are lucky to find someone who cares for your individuality, your subjectivity, what is peculiar, different, unique about you. People are more likely to be scared than attracted by these things. They prefer you to be sociable, clubbable, easy-going, undemanding, unknowing, unreflective, uncritical, unchallenging - one of them.

Oh, wow, yes, indeed, David. It drives me mad. How very insecure most people are, to not understand the value of our differences. Instead, fear.

BTW, love that poem. I've come back and read it a few times.

Thanks Sue.
How about this quote from Nietzsche?
No shepherd and one herd! Everybody wants the same, everybody is the same. Whoever feels different goes voluntarily into a madhouse.

That is a rather brilliant quote. Nietzsche's stuff is always so dense. That is very true and very depressing really.

Luckily not all people are like that though. But the herd mentality runs rife these days. Pity
